Comment Help

Here's a very brief explanation on how to leave a comment...

Click on "(number of) comments" underneath whichever post you want to respond to.

Then it will give you a space on the right to leave your comment.

Type out whatever you want to say, then do the word verification. The word verification protects us from spam. (word verification=typing out what the funky looking letters are in the box below them)

Then you will click "choose an identity."

If you have a google/blogger account (which means you have your own blog or profile on blogspot or gmail), fill in your name and password.

If you do not have a google/blogger account, choose "other" and fill in your name and your web site address if you have one (but you do not HAVE to have a web site address to use this option). (THIS IS THE OPTION I WOULD SUGGEST FOR MOST OF YOU THAT DO NOT HAVE GMAIL)

You can also choose "anonymous."

Then click "publish your comment." You will see a line at the top that says something like "Your comment has been saved until owner approval."

Once you click publish your comment, we will get it, so don't click that button over and over :)

The map at the top right hand corner of the blog tracks all of you...insert evil laugh here...which means you do not need to sign in or click anything to let the map know where you are. It's a very smart map. It tracks where you are logging in from, and loads once a day.

Isn't it fun to see that people all over the world are praying for David?? But what's up with Australia and Africa?? I know one of you knows somebody in there who wants to pray for David!!

David, it was a blast to watch the boys get their Shave for Dave action at the barber shop yesterday. I got all excited and got in the chair too, only to hear the barber say that "nature" had already beaten him to the punch : ( crackalakka!!!!!!

We are in your corner champ; fuzzy heads, willing hearts, prayerful watch and believing faith.

David, You can add Carlton and Winston to your man club "shave for Dave"!!! They were wanting us girls to join in but I assurred them that they didn't want that to happen and that this is just for men. They are pumped to be 'official now'!!! How blessed my family is to have such an awesome cousin and for me & Uncle Stacy, newphew!!!It was pretty fine for our family to read tonight Austin's testimony! How you two boys Glorify the Lord in everything you do. Every night I've come home from the hospital and I am able to tell them how God is answering prayers right before us! That everyone up there knows David, (even patients), and how you are bringing people to Christ! You are AMAZING!!! We LOVE you so much! We're praying every step of the way!!! Love, Essa, Uncle Stacy, Sophia, Carlton and Winston

David,
I was up in the waiting room most the day yesterday and even tho I didn't get to see you, you were in my prayers and thoughts constantly. As I was reading my Bible this morning this scripture jumped out at me for you: "Where can I go from Thy Spirit? Or where can I flee from Thy presence?...If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea (if I'm in bed #29 in ICU), even there Thy hand will lead me, and Thy right hand will LAY HOLD of me. If I say, "surely they darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night," even the darkness is not dark to Thee, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to Thee. For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother's womb (to be a visual miracle of God's power and grace). I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:7,9-14 I love you and will be at your par-tee tonight!
love, aunt susan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAVID. HAPPY BIIIIRTHDAAAY TO YOUUUUU (one octave higher on this line)!!!

David. Sup? You're a rockstar. No, uou don't know me. BUT, Austin does b/c Lauren and I are good friends and are both Middle Eastern in our ethnicity. So, obviously we're all friends. haha.

I wanted you to know that I get goosebumps when I read all that God is doing right now at Memorial. You and your family are being used as empty vessels for the Lord to completely FILL and pour out onto the staff (and to all those reading this blog and praying hard for you!) Take courage and take joy in your weakness and pain (I know it can be hard, trust me on that), knowing that the Lord is being glorified daily b/c of you...

"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed." 1 pe 4:11-13

"Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." 2 cor 12:8-9

...and this is how you are changing Houston, TX right now...

"For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering, you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord's message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath." 1 thes 1:4-10

Dear David,
I am Wael Aljasem and I believe we have meet once last year during Easter at your Parents house North of Houston. I was invited to your Easter dinner by your grandfather Carl who is a dear friend to our family. I am not sure if you remember me, but I had a very nice time meeting your hospitable folks.
My family and I will be praying for your speedy recovery. I am sure that you are a believer in God and that God has his ways to test his followers. It’s not easy, but you have to be strong. Speaking from a personal experience, over twenty years ago my younger sister went into a comma where her brain cells died and she was in the ICU for close to two months. Now she is paralyzed in her wheel chair and she cannot use her vision also. What has kept us and her sane are our continuous prayers to God and our continuous love for each other.
I pray that God will look after and by His will I hope to be able to meet you soon.
All the best and God bless you.
Wael Aljasem (Kuwait, 10-Dec-08)
