Matt read this Scripture to David and Kathe this morning and they feel it is God's promise to David and them today -
Isaiah 41: 13-
"For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand,
Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'"
David had a difficult night just being uncomfortable and nauseated, and trying to take in the news he was given yesterday. We have a praise this morning, though, and that is that his swelling has gone down!!
The awesome nurses have all been coming in this morning and are so excited about David - Dr. Franklin (chief resident), was just here and he is going to get on the blog. (I'm getting nervous!)
One of David's nurses from yesterday, Cheryl, brought him some battery operated Christmas lights for his tree this morning too!
As Kathe walked down the hall the custodial staff came up and hugged her - speaking little English but with tears and told her how they are praying for David. Smiles and tears, the universal language.
Emanuel (the tech that helped David earlier) came up to her and thanked her for the cookies from Janet and the flowers from Melissa that they have in their conference room. Kathe told him how meaningful it was for her that he was with David yesterday and he told her that he had not been in David's pod this whole past week and was so blessed by the Scripture and Christian music - he is a Believer!
So great to see the Body of Christ in action...

Hey Bakers, i am here in OR visiting family right now, but Becki gave me your blog site and last night into this morning when I would wake up God would bring you to mind after Satan tried bringing other things to mind (in other words there is major spiritual warefare going on right now) So, to those who are letting other thoughts crowd out praying for David, renew your mind and fight back. I wish i was there with you all and I am praying and love you guys!

You don't know me, but I have known your family since before you were born and I have known you since your were born. I grew up with your Aunt Melissa. I used to stop by your grandparents house on Christmas Eve and I remember your first appearance at those festivities! Everyone was looking at the beautiful new baby. I remember your father holding you and his face was pure pride and contentment. I remember him saying to your grandfather that his family felt complete now that you were there! I probably haven't seen you since then, but I have heard updates about your life from your Aunt. To the Baker family,
You don't know us, but we are also an FBBA family. Our son is in 10th grade, and although he doesn't share any classes with him, he is very concerned about David. We are lifting David up in prayer each day during our family prayer time, and anxiously watching your blog for news. We know that God is unfailing in his love for David and your family. Please know that your story has touched us in such a powerful way and we are in awe of your strength and faith along this most difficult journey.
We are faithfully praying for David, wishing him a birthday that he will remember in thanksgiving for the rest of his life, and for God's mighty power and grace to be manifested through Dr. Chen and his team for miraculous healing surgery tomorrow.

Dear Kathe, Matt and David,
Well, we aren't in Australia but how is Pittsburgh, PA? David, I don't know how or why I was so blessed to be in your parents home with all the elders the evening they prayed over you and anointed you with oil when you were a baby, but I was and I'll never forget it. Please know that we are
praying for you and "holding your arms up" during this battle. Take care and rest in your Daddy's arms. We are looking forward to seeing God's hand at work.
